Why we quote projects, not hours

Hourly billing quietly puts the client and the studio on opposite sides of a clock: every hour saved is revenue lost for the studio, and every hour spent is a cost the client has to justify. It is a bad incentive structure disguised as flexibility.

We scope a fixed outcome — pages, features, states, a launch date — and price against that, so the incentive on both sides points the same direction: ship the thing, well, on time.

It also forces better discovery up front. You cannot price a project you have not actually mapped, which means the planning conversation happens before the contract, not somewhere in month two.
